When Will the Common Man Receive Complete Medical Services?

Mudhol: November 25
The current 30-bed hospital building in Mudhol, the headquarters of Mudhol constituency in Nirmal district, is in a dilapidated state. Previously, the former government had sanctioned funds for the construction of a new building. The work began, but it has been stalled after the pillars were constructed. If the building construction is completed, it would provide modern, quality medical services not just to the Mudhol area, but also to nearby regions including Basara, Tanur, and Lokeshwaram Mandals. However, the people’s hopes have been dashed.
The construction work for the new hospital was initiated on the national highway near the Bimsa-Basara area of Mudhol. The contractor, who initially worked with enthusiasm, left the project incomplete when it reached the pillar stage. The work was halted after the previous government failed to pay the construction bills. Over the past year and a half, the local leaders have failed to take any significant action, which has led to growing dissatisfaction among the public.
As a result, only basic medical services are available at the old hospital, and despite the presence of doctors, there are no adequate facilities to conduct surgeries. Local leaders and youth associations have raised their concerns and organized protests, urging for the hospital’s development, but the authorities have shown no interest. This has led to the situation where medical services are hardly available.
People had hoped that after the Congress government came to power, the hospital construction would speed up, but their expectations have not been met. Despite requests from BJP leaders and other local figures, the authorities have not responded, and the situation has not improved. During elections, leaders repeatedly commit to the development of Mudhol, but the progress of the hospital construction is a matter of public concern.
Local leaders argue that the hospital construction stalled due to lack of pressure on the government. Many believe the work would have progressed if the pressure had been applied properly.
The people of Mudhol are now being forced to travel to Bimsa, Nizamabad, or even Maharashtra for better medical care. Poor families are suffering financially due to this situation. After winning elections, the leaders forget their promises and fail to address the issues, the locals complain.
The existing hospital is in a deteriorating condition. Once crowded with patients, it now only serves outpatient visits. With an increase in the number of doctors and nursing staff, about 200 patients visit daily, but surgeries cannot be performed. The hospital lacks essential facilities like an X-ray machine. The locals hope that once the new building is completed, all necessary services will be provided.
The people of Mudhol urge the leaders and the government to respond promptly and complete the hospital construction, ensuring that the people receive better medical services.
