Team India began their tour of South Africa on a high note with a 61-run victory in the first T20 match of the four-game series. Batting first, India posted a formidable score of 202/8, with Sanju Samson leading the charge with a blistering 107 off 50 balls (7 fours, 10 sixes). Tilak Varma provided valuable support with 33 off 18 balls. South Africa’s Gerald Coetzee took three wickets for 37 runs, while Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Pieter, and Kruger each took one wicket.
In response, South Africa managed only 141 runs before being bowled out. Heinrich Klaasen (25 off 22 balls), Ryan Rickelton (21 off 11 balls), and Gerald Coetzee (23 off 11 balls) were the top scorers.
