On the occasion of Karthika Pournami, Manginapudi Beach witnessed grand celebrations with thousands of devotees taking holy dips. Minister Kollu Ravindra performed rituals and interacted with pilgrims, emphasizing the state’s arrangements under CM Chandrababu Naidu’s guidance. Safety measures included drones, lifeguards, and barricading. Free prasadam and milk distribution added to the festivities.

Machilipatnam, November 15: Manginapudi Beach came alive with devotees celebrating the sacred occasion of Karthika Pournami. Minister for Mines, Geology, and Excise, Kollu Ravindra, led the rituals, performing pujas and offering camphor harathi to the sea at dawn.

Interacting with pilgrims, the Minister highlighted the state’s comprehensive arrangements under Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s directives. He encouraged pilgrims to utilize the facilities provided.

Addressing the media, Kollu Ravindra noted, “Karthika Pournami is an auspicious day when devotees from across the country perform holy dips in rivers and seas. At Manginapudi Beach, we expect lakhs of devotees annually, and arrangements have been made to cater to their needs.”

Key highlights of the arrangements include:

  • Safety Measures: Over 60 lifeguards and boats stationed by the Fisheries Department. Drones monitor the area, ensuring no untoward incidents.
  • Infrastructure: Roads illuminated, barricades installed, and 500 personnel managing crowd control.
  • Devotee Comfort: Free distribution of prasadam, milk for children, and tagging systems to ensure no children go missing.
  • Sanitation and Order: Revenue, police, and sanitation teams have been working for five days to prepare the venue.

Local Collector DK Balaji, SP R. Gangadhar Rao, and Joint Collector Geetanjali Sharma oversaw the arrangements.

Minister Kollu Ravindra expressed gratitude to the devotees, emphasizing the cultural and spiritual significance of the event. He also participated in child-tagging and milk distribution at an ICDS camp.

The event saw active participation from senior officials, lifeguards, and volunteers, ensuring a safe and joyous celebration.
