On November 25, 2024, customs officials at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Hyderabad, intercepted two exotic snakes hidden inside the luggage of two female passengers arriving from Bangkok. During routine baggage screening, the officials became suspicious of a basket being carried by the passengers and decided to investigate further. To their surprise, they discovered two snakes, one of which was an albino, rare and believed to be venomous. The snakes were concealed inside translucent round bags.
