In a recent event marking the conclusion of the 57th National Library Festival in Mulugu, Telangana, State Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, and Women & Child Welfare Minister Dr. Anasuyya Seethakka announced that the Mulugu district library would soon be developed into a model library. Alongside this, she also honored nine individuals who had secured teaching jobs after studying in the library, acknowledging their success and the library’s role in their achievements.
Minister Seethakka laid the foundation stone for the construction of new toilets at the library, as part of an ongoing effort to improve the infrastructure of public spaces. During her speech, she reflected on the contributions of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, noting her significant role in the nationalization of banks, and how such visionary actions have shaped India’s progress. Seethakka also praised Indira Gandhi’s leadership and highlighted her legacy as a driving force behind the growth of education and knowledge in the country.
The minister emphasized the importance of libraries as “temples of knowledge,” and stressed that every village should have both a school and a library. She pointed out that schools and libraries are essential for the development of individuals, families, and nations. Libraries, she said, provide knowledge that empowers youth to excel in competitive exams and secure jobs.
In her address, Seethakka revealed that within just 10 months of the new government’s formation, over 54,000 people had been given employment opportunities. She expressed her happiness at the success of nine youth who had found teaching jobs after studying in the library.
The minister also urged authorities to devise special plans for the further development of the library, including adding more books and improving the overall environment. As part of the library’s transformation into a model facility, Seethakka instructed officials to build a compound wall around the library premises and plant trees to enhance its surroundings.
Additionally, she shared plans for the development of Mulugu Town, including the construction of a new model bus stand at the existing bus station. She assured that pending development works, delayed due to the previous monsoon season, would be completed soon.
District Collector Divakar TS expressed his delight at the library’s role in supporting local youth, many of whom were preparing for competitive exams. He noted that the library had become a valuable resource for those seeking employment. The provision of afternoon meals to library visitors was also highlighted as a significant contribution to the community’s well-being.
Minister Seethakka assured that, under her leadership, the Mulugu district library would soon be transformed into a model library, providing not only books but also resources needed for job-related education and skills development.
