: The inquiry into the Kaleshwaram Project, specifically focusing on the construction of Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla Barrages, is set to resume from November 20. Justice Pinaki Chandraghosh, heading the Commission, will stay in Hyderabad for two weeks to conduct cross-examinations of IAS officers and former officials involved in the project. The process had been delayed due to a delay in the issuance of a government order, causing frustration among the Commission members, particularly Justice Ghosh.
Earlier, the Commission had planned to start cross-examination on November 12, but the process was delayed by 13 days due to the late issuance of the Government Order (GO). Justice Ghosh expressed dissatisfaction over the delay. So far, the cross-examination of Engineers, Chief Engineers, and former officials from the Irrigation Department has been completed.
The next phase of the inquiry will involve questioning former key public representatives who played a significant role in the construction of the barrages. The Commission is preparing to issue summons to these individuals by the end of November or in the first week of December. It is expected that the Commission will finalize its report by December and submit it to the government by the end of the month.
